Sake Corner #9

A week with Mr John Gauntner : Becoming a Saké Professional
– Byron Kehoe

John Gauntner is considered to be the one true Saké master, having spent more than 25 years in Japan studying, researching and teaching Saké internationally. Gauntner offers a 5 day intensive course annually in Tokyo as well as selected cities in the USA.

I completed the course in Tokyo (the USA doesn’t have many breweries to visit!) and can attest to the value of the course in terms of knowledge and experience, not to mention the more than 100 brews tasted in little over 5 days.
