The contribution made by Lesley Kehoe Galleries in conjunction with Significant Women’s Network, friends, clients and colleagues is having a significant impact.
In response to a direct request from a group of local mothers for a safe place for their children to play, Fujita-san, head of the Citizens for the Recovery of Ishinomaki, is using part of the donated funds to restore a community centre near a primary school. Paul Johanassen and his film crew were able to make it up to Ishinomaki to take video footage of the rebuilding. A few still images before the rebuilding commenced are below.
