COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT
Professional advice and guidance in developing a collection of Japanese
art for both individual and corporate collectors. Developing an
overall philosophy for the collection giving consideration to such
things as personal and corporate goals, authenticity and overall
integrity of the collection, its contribution to the field of Japanese
art, to the local or national community, and its investment potential.
CURATORIAL SERVICES
Research and cataloguing of individual pieces or collections. Full
descriptions of pieces including artist, if known, school, and period,
with attention to the place of the item in the overall development
of the art form, its historical and sociological background and
importance, its association with myth and symbology. Professional
advice on conservation and restoration with referral to appropriate
practitioners if desired.
VALUATIONS
Professional written valuations only are offered and the pieces
must be inspected.
LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL TRAINING COURSES
A variety of courses can be offered to suit specific needs. Individual
and group sessions for Japanese language, Japanese art and Japanese
culture.
SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
Individual lectures, seminars and workshops on a variety of topics
relating to Japanese culture and art. Previous clients include:
Melbourne University, Daimaru, JETRO, National Gallery of Victoria,
Ceramic and Glass Circle of Australia, Australian Decorative and
Fine Art Society.
