LESLEY KEHOE GALLERIES
Lesley Kehoe Galleries is internationally recognised as one of
the world's leading specialist dealers in fine and rare Japanese
art. Established in 1981 by proprietor Lesley Kehoe, the Gallery
enjoys an unparalleled reputation with both corporate and private
collectors, especially for its lacquer and Edo period masterpieces
and confidential acquisition and curatorial services.
Highly regarded for her intimate and extensive knowledge of Japanese
art and culture, Lesley Kehoe is a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society,
a member of the Confederation Internationale des Negociants en Oeuvres
d'Art, the Antique Dealers' Association of Australia and Victoria,
and is an accredited valuer for the Australian Government Art Incentive
Scheme. Her expertise and communications skills have ensured Lesley
is widely sought as a guest lecturer, commentator and writer. She
has a Master of Arts degree in Japanese (Monash University, Melbourne).
Lesley's career started serendipitously, with the purchase of ukiyo-e
prints as a Japanese exchange student, and has evolved to a lifetime
passion. Her collection is inspired by a sense of celebration of
the Japanese aesthetic, coupled with a singular focus on authenticity,
rarity, individuality - and occasionally, whimsy.
Each object is precious. Many have illustrious provenance, some
are humble but the intrinsic qualities of every individual piece,
and the pleasure of its purchaser, are paramount.
Lesley Kehoe Galleries takes pride in offering its clientele professional,
discreet acquisition advice highlighting the dual importance of
authenticity and ultimately investment potential. The Gallery also
provides comprehensive curatorial services, valuations and conducts
regular seminars and workshops on Japanese art and culture.
